Magazine Madness!

I do love a good freebie with magazines! I have to say that they are usually all very good freebies, with brands like Benefit and Nails Inc getting involved.

I was gobsmacked when I found out the amount of magazine freebies in the April issues! I new I'd be purchasing a few! All the freebies came at once, with 4 different magazines having great gifts I wanted!

Sooo, I popped into Sainsburys and picked up a few, or is that a few too many?!
Check out what I came away with:

Yes, that's 8 magazines there. 4 of Glamour alone, 2 of Cosmopolitan, 1 Marie Claire and 1 Good Housekeeping.

The freebies are a good mix of skincare, hair care and hand cream!

I was lucky enough to try full size products of Percy and Reed hair care range a while ago, so knew I loved them. Also, they were a freebie in 2012's April Glamour and I got 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner and 2 masks back then. I regretted not stockpiling more, so this time around I got 2 shampoo and 2 conditioners!

I was also loving the Elemis Fresh Skin products that came with Cosmopolitan. I've been wanting to try those out for a while, so jumped at the chance to try some for a good price. I got the lip balm (you can never have too many lip balms!) and the mattifying moisturiser as I have combination skin. I'm actually tempted to get another balm!

The balance Me hand cream I had got in a beauty box and new it was good, so grabbed the 50ml version worth £10 with Good Housekeeping. Staying with hand cream, I grabbed my second Neal's Yard Bee Lovely, also worth £10 from Marie Claire too.

Birchbox March 2013 review!

It's time for March's Birchbox review! The theme this month is Role Models - hero products with inspiring stories and results you'll want to pass on.

Ok, here we go!

First up is a Laura Geller Inkwell Waterproof Gel Liner in Black.

This looks really nice. I'm not a massive liner wearer, but will definitely try this out and see what it's like.
This has Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E in it and retails for around £12.

Selfridges, Lancome Haul!

I went to Selfridges last week and came away with some brand new Lancome skincare! I also managed to get some good samples from various beauty counters, as well as L'Occitane. Good stuff!

I have wanted to purchase a bottle of Genifique for a while now. I've had a few sample sizes and do like it, I just wanted to use it for longer!
I had also been really interested in the new Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl eye serum. It is meant to help reduce fine lines and combat dark circles. I need dark circle help! I am always looking out for products for my eyes!

The lady on the Lancome counter was very nice and gave my friend and I a complete product make-over.
She used Galateis Douceur cleanser, Tonique Douceur toner, Genifique concentrate, Light-Pearl and Genifique Creme, La Base Pro primer, the new Teint Visonnaire foundation, Teint Miracle concealer, Blush Subtil and Star Bronzer Pinceau Magique. Phew!

They had some Mothers Day sets for Genifique and Visonnaire, which were the normal price for the product but came with 4 extra deluxe size products. I loved all the bonus products (Mascara, Visonnaire/Genifique, Lipstick and La vie est belle fragrance) so decided to get the Genifique one. Plus, I loved the Yeux Light-Pearl too and if you got 2 products you got an extra 4 samples, so of course I splashed out and went for it!

I am currently trying them both out and will be reporting on what I think soon!

I absolutely love getting samples. It is such a great way to try new products that I wouldn't pay full price for without knowing if I like them first.

So what did I pick up?

Glossybox March 2013 Review!

I wasn't expecting my March Glossybox to arrive today, I hadn't even looked for spoilers yet!

The month's theme is 'City Chic'. I had no idea what to expect from that!
Also included, alongside the product descriptions, was a really cute 'Little Travelling Book'.
This is a sweet little booklet divided into countries and for each country there are a few tips on either hotels, shops, food, sights etc to see. Also a page for notes and a page of cute stickers. I like this little extra!

Onto the box!....

Firstly a Tresemme extra hold hairspray. Oops, I don't use hairspray. Bummer! I'm sure I can find a home for this though. Nice size at last for Glossy though.

Then a cute mini Nails Inc polish in 'St James's'. This is a pretty good colour. Red, but almost a realllly deep pink. I would have preferred the lighter pink version, but this will still get used.

Then we have a Jelly Pong Pong lip blush. I can't see a shade name on mine, but it's red. I don't like this colour! Too strong for me and it kind of looks like a wax crayon. Shame. I looked at the ingredients and the first one is mineral oil. Hmm, mineral oil is not that good for you! Don't think I'm liking this one.

Next, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream in 7ml. I've had this before and I've had it free from an Elizabeth Arden counter, so no excitement here from me for this sample. But, it's always useful to pop into a bag and have on hand.

Lastly, a 1.5ml Juicy Couture La La perfume sample. Yep, more perfume. More floral perfume.

If Glossybox used those beauty profiles, I would be 100% more happy with my boxes. The last few months I've had strong make-up colours and floral perfumes. Exactly the opposite of my profile!
If I had got pale colours and no perfume, I would be so much better off.

This month I can't say is a disaster because the products are ok. Not to my taste, but ok. Just a change in colour and a different sample to replace the perfume and I would have liked this box a lot.

But unfortunately I won't be using half of it again because of shades and smells!

How did you find this Glossybox, did you like your shades? Also, what other boxes do you like? Lux Box, Amarya? Which ones are good and worth subscribing to?

From Me, For You xoxo

Pamper Me: Lush Space Girl & Montagne Jeunesse Mud Pac Review

I do love a good face mask every now and again. It comes into my category of 'Pamper'.

I decided to combine my Montagne Jeunesse Mud Pac mask with a Space Girl bath bomb from Lush as I just love Lush baths!

Firstly, the Space Girl bath bomb. It's the first time I've tried Space Girl and I was pretty excited because it says I'd be able to 'float in my own personal space' ahhhh, relaxing....
Plus, it has popping candy and glitter. Hooray!

It's a good size ballistic. I used the whole thing in one go as I love the full on effect, but if you want to economise, you could save some for another bath.
